Max's 6th (long overdue pictures)

Sorry for being so late to post pictures of Max's 6th birthday! This summer has been NON. STOP! Anyway, Max's 6th birthday was, in his words, "the best birthday EVER!" It was thanks in large part to a visit from Aunt Megan, who totally made the "Adventure Time" theme with her custom cupcakes, and who delivered a perfect bat signal later that night, prompting the REAL BATMAN come to our back yard!!!! I'm only going to post a few pictures here, so you'll have to view my flickr slideshow (below) to see them all ...

Tickle fight w/ Megan!
Opening the Galactic Enforcer! (Max has wanted this SO BADLY all year long ... made us so happy to finally give it to him :)
Of course, we did think it would buy us a little more time ... almost 865 pieces and it took him only 1 day to assemble
Baking the cupcakes with Megan
Here is a picture of the Adventure Time characters:

Here is a picture of Megan's amazing cupcakes:

6th birthday wish!
Total slobs, these boys! No need to send out a hundred million birthday invites to the ants. These Sour Patch Kids ought to do the trick! ;D
Roasting marshmallows for s'mores ... yummy!

love this picture of Max and Quinn! They are best buddies!
Finally settled into the tent for a movie and some pop ice ... ahhhhhhh! Time for hot chocolate w/ Megan :)
Of course, that didn't last long. 30 minutes into Spy Kid 3 (in 3D!) they started making bat signals with their flashlights ... later that night BATMAN ACTUALLY APPEARED IN OUR BACKYARD!!!

A few quotes from the night (all said in excited screaming voice: "You guys! Batman is REAL!!! If Batman is real, that means all of the super heros are real! " "That means all of the villains are real, too!" "Batman! Come back! We are your biggest fans! We have your video game!!! Please can we have your autograph!?!?"

Batman's appearance led to an all night Batman hunt, but we all know how elusive super heros can be
I went to bed around 2:00 a.m. and Max and Quinn were still all wound up (the other two boys went home around then, since it was their first sleep over and their dad was worried about them staying the night). Here's the view from the front porch the next morning:

Enough said. This party was awesome! Don't know how we'll top it next year ...

Here's a cute picture of Max and his Aunt Megan:

One last picture of Max continuing his birthday celebration at Big Ed's Pizza later in the week after his first ride on a jet ski:

Being 6 is AAWWEESSSOOOMMMEEE!!! Any boy who doesn't have an aunt Megan ought to go out and get one. Best party ever. It must have taken 2 days sleep to recover(not for Max but for Mom and Dad)All this plus a Jet Ski ride--save something for the next 12 years until he leaves for college.
