The Harpers: Max's 8th

As if Max's party wasn't enough to wear the boy out for the next month, he had a week of science camp lined up that began the following Monday. Because the camp was in Jefferson City (where Thomas lives and Thomas' dad runs the camps), he spent the entire week sleeping over at Thomas' house, staying up WAY too late and waking up WAY too early. By the time I got him back on Friday night (the night before his actual birthday) he was totally pooped! Needless to say, we kept his actual birthday pretty low key. Max had a wonderful day full of playing with his new toys (and his sweet sissy). He also requested that we take him to Five Guys for lunch, so that he could try his first bacon cheeseburger, which he ate "like a man" :)

I never thought I would say this, but we actually had to wake Max up on his birthday! Seriously, the dude was sleeping in "Harper style"! We waited as long as we could and then finally had to bust in with a surprise "Happy Birthday!"

As he is going out the door with it (before charging and / or reading the instructions) he says to me "Mom, do you mind getting the door for me? My hands are kind of full here. I've got the helicopter, the remote ... and ALL MY HOPES AND DREAMS!" .... I love my Max!
