Today, we went on a field trip with Max's school to Maple Lane Farms. We've been there before and always have a good time. This year there was a little more drama than in the past, since Max and his "girlfriend" Kinley have been on the outs. Quick story: about a week ago, I pick up Max at school and Kinley comes up to me sobbing: " You're son just BROKE UP with me!!!!!" She was truly devastated and, needless to say, I and the rest of the school that witnessed this pitiful scene where shocked! I mean, yeah, she had talked about marrying him and having kids with him, but THEY'RE FOUR for crying out loud! No one thought she was for real! Especially not Max. Turns out he just wanted to play with someone else on the playground that day. Kinley and Max have been friendly since then, so I assumed they were over it, but Kinley spent most of the time they were together today buddying up to the couple of boys Max is friends with and trying to make him jealous. What's worse -- it appeared to be working! So, long story short, there was a fair amount of bickering mixed in with the fun, but I suppose that comes with the territory. I also had my hands more than full. At one point, I found myself carrying Cate in one arm and Max's gigantic pumpkin in the other, while running after Max to keep him from disappearing into the corn maze for what could have been a very long time (That is one heck of a corn maze!) Thankfully, we all made it back with a pumpkin to boot!
